GNSS Reference Station Networking

Worldwide, there are only a limited number of GNSS software packages available, which enable operational services from GNSS Networking of reference stations.

It is essential to support all kind of geodetic GNSS receiver hardware, especially while looking at already existing GNSS network infrastructure with different, inhomogeneous and legacy receiver hardware. It is of advantage to have similar reference station setups and equipment, but exchanging GNSS data with neighbors and progress in technology adds new requirements to an existing status. A GNSS service provider, however, is always faced to a variety of brands for the GNSS rover systems in the field on the user side.

Geo++ has been a GNSS hardware independent software provider from the beginning and has developed interfaces for all major GNSS hardware.

For quite a while, companies were associated with certain GNSS network correction techniques/modes. From the SSR point of view, the optimized solution for GNSS network corrections is accessible by SSR data and the different concepts of GNSS network correction are just different methods to transport the information to a GNSS user in the field.

Geo++ developed the FKP technique already in 1996 and supported the VRS mode from the beginning. Sophisticated new technologies were added by Geo++ (Pseudo Reference Station PRS, SSR). Actually Geo++ initiated and participated actively in the development of the MAC concept. For the future, SSR concepts and data will gain more and more importance. Derived from global applications, users are already familiar with state space products like precise orbits and clocks.
